Mussofi and Organic: A journey towards natural and certified beauty

We've reached the final article in this series, right in the heart of the December holiday season. To conclude, we wanted to address an important topic for many of you: organic certification. Why aren't Mussofi products, like our anti-dark spot serum or our anti-dark spot face cream, yet certified organic? It's a question we often get asked, and we've decided to discuss it openly and honestly.

Organic certification: a demanding and progressive process

At Mussofi, we have placed naturalness at the heart of our approach from the very beginning. Our patented formula already includes a high percentage of natural ingredients, while excluding controversial substances.

For example, our hyperpigmentation serum contains:

Shikimic acid, to even out skin tone and reduce pigment spots.
Vitamin C, to protect the skin from free radicals and brighten the complexion.
Hyaluronic acid, for deep hydration and supple skin.
Furthermore, we have incorporated Bioecolia®, a microbiome-friendly prebiotic that meets ECOCERT and COSMOS standards. These ingredients reflect our commitment to effective and natural beauty.

Why isn't Mussofi certified organic yet?

Organic certification, like COSMOS certification, imposes strict constraints:

Percentage of organic ingredients: Although our formulas are mostly natural, some ingredients are not yet available in organic versions or necessarily require expensive substitutions.

Quality documentation and compliance: Adapting our formulas and packaging to these standards requires a complete overhaul of our production processes, which represents a significant investment for a young brand like Mussofi.

We are currently two full-time workers on this project, and although organic certification is a medium-term priority, we need to move forward gradually so as not to jeopardize the viability of our business.

A medium-term priority for Mussofi

Obtaining organic certification remains one of our future goals. Most of our formulas, such as our facial cleansing gel and moisturizing body lotion, are already compliant. Our packaging, like the recyclable glass or RPET bottles, also meets eco-responsible requirements.

When we are ready, we will move forward with this project to offer you effective, organic cosmetics that are always tailored to the needs of Black and mixed-race skin. We will keep you informed at every stage of this process.
